Dr. David Lupinski received his doctorate of optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

With small town, blue-collar roots as a strong influence, Dr. Lupinski has a passion for connecting with his patients on a personal level while providing exceptional health care. The son of a Polish immigrant father and a meticulous, devoted mother, Dr. Lupinski hails from a rural community in northeastern Pennsylvania. His relentless pursuit of excellence was forged at a young age and has been evident at every stage of his life.

While attending Penn State, amongst other honors, Dr. Lupinski was nominated for membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa and Parmi Nous senior honor societies and graduated from the Schreyer Honor College with a degree in Life Sciences. His membership and leadership roles in the Lion Ambassadors student alumni corps laid the foundation for a lifetime of Penn State pride and fanaticism that remains strong to this day.

While attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now Salus University) on a United States Navy Health Professions Scholarship, Dr. Lupinski was recognized for excellence in education and clinical acumen through several scholarship awards. Active in student government, he served in many leadership roles including President of the student body Executive Council.

Dr. Lupinski began his optometric career by proudly serving in the U.S. Navy at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Providing eye care to active duty personnel and retirees at the various bases in the area allowed Dr. Lupinski to sharpen his clinical expertise while further developing his leadership skills. He also enjoyed mentoring dozens of future optometrists as a clinical preceptor to students from the Southern California College of Optometry, Pacific University College of Optometry, and the University of Houston College of Optometry.

Following an honorable discharge from the Navy in 2001, Dr. Lupinski relocated to Charlotte where his shared vision and ambition for exceptional eye care led him to team up with Dr. Khoshnevis to develop Vision Source Studio 20/20 into a multi-location practice. Clinically, he specializes in contact lens services, focusing on myopia control through orthokeratology to limit the development of near-sightedness in children and teenagers, and on multi-focal contact lenses to help adults in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s struggling with near-point tasks and reading.

Dr. Lupinski has served his profession as President of the Piedmont Optometric Society and on the Executive Council of the North Carolina Optometric Society, but his true passion revolves around his family. He is married to his Penn State sweetheart Mary Beth and has four children, Gabi, Dani, Lukas, and Lisie. They are active in the Catholic school community and their parish St. Matthew. Dr. Lupinski has enjoyed coaching football, baseball, basketball, and soccer through the years through affiliations with St. Matthew, Calvary, and South Charlotte Recreation Association.
